Keep data in sync
How Databookly reads your QuickBooks company, and when to click Sync.
Databookly reads your books live from QuickBooks Online. It doesn't keep a separate copy of your ledger, so what you see always comes from QuickBooks.
Sync from QuickBooks
To keep pages fast, Databookly reuses what it read from QuickBooks for up to a minute. If you just changed something in QuickBooks and don't see it yet, click Sync from QuickBooks at the top of the page.
Changes you make in Databookly (posting, editing, deleting, sending to QuickBooks) show up right away. There's no need to sync after them.
Data only or All
The sidebar mirrors QuickBooks Online's menu. Use the switch next to All apps at the top of the menu to choose:
- Data only: only the pages where your company has records.
- All: the full QuickBooks menu. Pages Databookly doesn't read yet are marked Not read from QuickBooks yet.
What stays in QuickBooks
Some things QuickBooks doesn't share with connected apps, so you'll still do them in QuickBooks:
- Pending and excluded bank-feed lines. QuickBooks keeps these in Banking. Databookly works around this with a file export. See Import pending bank lines.
- Your bank's own balance. It comes from the bank feed, which QuickBooks doesn't share. Databookly shows the balance in QuickBooks.
Where something lives only in QuickBooks, Databookly shows an Open in QuickBooks link straight to it.
